What is ABA?
Applied Behavior Analysis, ABA, is a scientifically validated method of teaching appropriate behaviors while managing and reducing unwanted behaviors. The driving force behind ABA is based on the principle of reinforcement, where desired behaviors are reinforced, therefore increasing the likelihood of them occurring again.
ABA is one of the most effective interventions used to teach children with autism. It has been utlized to teach communication and conversation skills, social skills, play skills, and indpendent living skills, to name just a few.
Who can benefit from ABA?
Everyone! At Beyond the Behavior, each child's program is tailored to his or her specific needs. This means that the goals addressed and reinforcers used will be specific to your child, increasing the likelihood of positive behavior change.
What age groups do you work with?
Currently, Beyond the Behavior accepts clients from the ages of 2-10.
What will my child's therapy schedule look like?
Your child's ABA therapy schedule is tailored to fit his or her needs and schedule. We know that you and your child are busy, and want to make receiving ABA therapy easy on you. We offer part-time, full-time, and after school social skills programs to address your child's needs. This can include one-on-one ABA, where a client receives instruction from one therapist throughout the session, or social skills groups, where a few clients may receive instruction from one ABA therapist. These options will be discussed with you before beginning at Beyond the Behavior, and the environment that will enable your child to be most successful will be utilized. Therapy hours at Beyond the Behavior are Monday-Friday, 8-5:30.
Do you take insurance, and how does that work?
Beyond the Behavior is in network with most of the larger insurance companies. Please see the insurance tab for the list. To see if your insurance company covers ABA Therapy, please fill out the insurance eligibility verification form and return it to us. We will verify your benefits for you!
